Generic Tapping

  Tune into your issue, problem, physical feeling or emotion.  Try to be as specific as you can in defining the problem.  Picture the situation as a short one minute movie: What did you see? What did you hear? What emotion and physical feeling? Remember your thoughts, any smells or tastes.  If a pain, where is it exactly, what does it feel like?    The more clear and specific* you can make your ‘movie’ be about the feeling or situation, the more successful you will be.  Give your movie/event a short title.                                                        

   [*If your situation is a traumatic one it is best initially NOT to be specific.  Define the trauma first using general statements such as: “this painful event.” Tap on the general statement for several rounds before going on to be more specific.]

 

    ·        Tap the fatty side of your hand (karate chop point) with the fingers of your other hand and say out loud three times:

Even though I have this (name of issue), I deeply and completely accept myself.

    ·
       
Tap with three fingers between your eyebrows and say:

I am releasing ALL of the frustration in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

       ·        Tap with two fingers on the bony areas of the side of the eye and say:

I am releasing ALL of the rage in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

      ·        Tap with two fingers under both eyes and say:

I am releasing ALL of the anxiety in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.

     
·        Tap with two fingers under your nose and say:

I am releasing ALL of the guilt in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers below your lower lip and say:

I am releasing ALL of the shame in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers below your collarbone and say:

I am releasing ALL of the fear in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.) 
    
     ·        Tap with all fingers of one hand in mid upper chest area and say:

I am releasing ALL of the sadness in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with all fingers about 4 inches under your arm pit and say:

I am releasing ALL of the resistance and blocks to resolving this  in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue).   

     ·
       
Tap with all fingers of one hand on the ribs under breasts for women, 4 inches under nipples for men, and say: 

 I am releasing ALL of the anger in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your thumb and say:

I am releasing ALL of the sadness in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your index and say:

I am releasing ALL of the nostalgia in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your middle finger and say:

I am releasing ALL of the regret and remorse in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

    
·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your little finger and say:

I am releasing ALL of the heartache in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.)

     ·        Tap on the crown of your head and say:

I am releasing ALL of the grief in all the deepest roots and causes of this (name of issue.) 

 

    

Tap with three fingers between your eyebrows and say:

I choose to be hopeful about solving (this issue)

  ·        Tap with two fingers on the bony areas of the side of the eye and say:

                              I choose to be forgiving

 ·        Tap with two fingers under both eyes and say:

                     I choose to trust the Universe (or the process, or the larger picture)

  ·        Tap with two fingers under your nose and say:

                      I choose to be confident in my power.

  ·        Tap with two fingers below your lower lip and say:

                     I choose to feel centered and secure.

 ·        Tap with two fingers below your collarbone and say:

                     I choose to move forward courageously.

 ·        Tap with all fingers of one hand in mid upper chest area and say:

                     I choose happiness

 ·        Tap with all fingers about 4 inches under your arm pit and say:

                     I choose to have faith and confidence in my future.

 ·        Tap with all fingers of one hand on the ribs under breasts for women, 4 inches under nipples for men, and say:

                     I choose to defend myself appropriately

 ·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your thumb and say:

                     I choose to embrace love and release this (issue)

 ·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your index and say:

                     I choose to let go of the old and make way for the new

 ·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your middle finger and say:

                     I choose to protect myself from all kinds of abuse

 ·        Tap with two fingers on the outer edge of your little finger and say:

                     I choose to do what is required with love

 ·        Tap on the crown of your head and say:

                     I choose peace

  BE PERSISTANT - Repeat several times a day until the emotion around the issue and/or any physical pain is neutralized.   Sometimes results are surprisingly quick.  However, often persistence is needed for many days or even weeks.  As you tap, another specific event may come up or some other related feeling.  Tap for these new ‘aspects’ as well.
